Savannah College of Art and Design, Theatrical Main Stage - Winter 2026
A young William Shakespeare, tormented by writer’s block, finds his muse and forbidden love in the passionate Viola De Lesseps, a young noblewoman who disguises herself as a man to act in his play. This leads to the creation of “Romeo and Juliet.”
Director: John Prosky
Position: Associate Costume Designer
Summary of Role: Conceptualized and worked alongside a costume design team of 10 to design costumes for SCAD’s Winter Main Stage Play, “Shakespeare In Love”, under the supervision and mentorship of Emmy Award-winning costume Designer, Janie Bryant. SFLM560 was the course, and a submission of a portfolio was required to be considered and then chosen to participate in this project. Additional tasks included sourcing costume pieces and working within the Costume Shop to complete function notes, and taking part in actor fittings. Created ideation sketches for two principal roles (Nurse and Burbage) along with the court ensemble looks. Sourced a full look for one of the tavern wenches (excludes wig and makeup).
Each Sketch on this page was used within the final costuming presentation. Final Looks are attached!
